East Tennessee Fishing Report Podcast with Ellis Ward

In this episode, host Marvin Cash interviews guide Ellis Ward about fall and winter fishing conditions in East Tennessee. They discuss how recent rains have improved fishing after a severe drought. Ellis talks about how he likes the gray, overcast days of early winter for fishing, and how temperatures and conditions are stabilizing which leads to more predictable fishing. He gives tips for fly fishing for musky and brown trout when water gets colder, like slowing down retrieves and using sinking lines to get flies deeper. Ellis also discusses how he changes retrieves based on water clarity and flow. He emphasizes the importance of keeping flies in the strike zone as long as possible.
